Staff interested in this category may be:
Highly experienced and or senior staff with strategic leadership responsibilities, national and international reputations in teaching and learning. You will probably have been working in Higher Education for approx fifteen years plus and have run high profile projects . You need to be in a position to demonstrate and evidence sustained strategic impact. It is anticipated that you will be an Associate Dean or above. If not you should have activities which have had an impact at a University or very large Faculty level or/and been engaged in external activities at an international or national level with regard to teaching and learning.
May we also remind you that you do need to have been an employee of Coventry University Group for twelve months before submitting a D4 application via the CUFPA route.
Descriptor D4 - Principal Fellow ( No D4 Submissions for June 2026 Panel )
D4 is suitable for highly experienced individuals whose practice involves a sustained record of effectiveness in strategic leadership of high-quality learning. Their impact is extensive.
Principal Fellowship is the appropriate category of fellowship to professionally recognise individuals from a wide variety of different contexts who lead and have had an extensive impact on high quality learning at a strategic level. This impact may be within or beyond an institution, or across a discipline or profession in higher education.
Applications for D4 will be limited due to the availability of assessors for each Panel.
Submission Instructions
To register on the D4 Aula, please contact the Professional Recognition Lead.
Prior to submission
Prior to submitting your application via Aula you are required to submit your application to the Professional Recognition Lead via email to provide feedback on whether you should proceed with submission at this stage in your application. This will be once your mentor and/or you have decided to submit.
Once you have decided to submit send your application to the Professional Recognition lead to approach a member of the Senior Leadership Team to sign off your application. this will usually be your Dean or equivalent.
How to submit via Aula
Once your application has been signed it will be returned to you to submit. Firstly submit your application form to Turnitin and then submit your application form and the Digital Receipt from Turnitin along with the other documentation to Handin.
